| Abstract | A fertilization system recently developed and applied to farming practice for various cereals and a few other crops in Europe is at present being transferred to paddy and soy bean cultivation in S.E.A. The fertilization system is based on chemical composition of plants and consists of all four possible methods of evaluating and controlling the nutritional status of plants i.e. Diagnosis, Prognosis Therapy and Tropogenesis. In the present study, the two test nutrients N and P were given respectively as Ammonium sulphate at transplanting time and maximum tillering stage, and Super phosphate solely at transplanting time. Chemical composition of the aerial parts of plants were determined periodically during the growth period. Various relationships between chemical composition of various nutrients and N and P at a fixed DMw-level of 10 gm per plant and between this and final yield were studied. These selected relationships were used to develop the models of 1) Diagnosis and 2) Therapy models for N and P with the aim of enlarging final yield. The models showed clear trend of the curves similar to those of the original models. Testing of this mdoels which made possible by comparing actual with predicted results showed clear agreement, thus the relationships indicates the possibility of transferring the fertilizer system to S.E.A. This, together with the fact that climate and conventional cultivation practice in S.E.A. favour the use of the methods are strong incitements for completion the transferring of fertilization system. |
