| Abstract | This study explores quality management in road construction, focusing on the Eindu-Kawkareik improvement project under the Greater Mekong Sub Region (GMS) East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC). The owner's quality management ensures compliance with contract requirements through quality assurance, control measures, third-party inspections, and systematic design management. Foundational principles like quality assurance and control address deficiencies and maintain quality standards, forming the backbone of effective project execution. The Eindu-Kawkareik project highlights the significance of personnel training, modern machinery, and regular assessments. A dedicated quality control leader ensures timely identification and correction of defects, facilitating smooth progress. Strengths include robust quality plans and inspections to address non-conformities, while challenges such as data errors and site condition variations require adaptive management. The study concludes that thorough planning, precise execution, and ongoing evaluation are essential for effective quality management in construction projects. These practices enhance outcomes and contribute to infrastructure development, benefiting the economy and society. Insights from this project offer valuable guidance for future infrastructure initiatives in Myanmar and beyond. |
