| Abstract | Kawpanaw-Ankaye-Pharpyauk-Kyioak Asphalt Road, located in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State has been selected as case project for the purpose of the report. In this report, it has discuss how DRRD has adopted asset management for project planning and operation of the road in Mon State. It has explained the current practice of DRRD in asset planning and operation of rural road project. Detail analysis on asset management applied in DRRD road project has been conducted. It has found there are some obstacle and difficulties including insufficient technical profession and lack of management training program, lack of rural road maintenance program and budget allocation, lack of machinery and equipment in DRRD, lack of asset knowledge, lack of risk management and review plan, lack of budget allocation for technical and financial feasibility etc, to fully implement asset management in rural road. The main reason that DRRD is new department, and it has limited on technical and management skills on current organization. Through this case study, it has proposed respective suggestion on each aspect and framework for adopting of asset management for rural road project is established for better utilization of asset management and sustainable development in the future. |
