| Abstract | Asset management is a methodical approach to governing and realizing value from the things that a group or institution is responsible for throughout the course of its full life cycle. Both tangible and intangible assets (material possessions like buildings or equipment) may be affected (such as human capital, intellectual property, goodwill, or financial assets). Asset management is a methodical procedure for creating, using, upgrading, maintaining, and disposing of assets in the most economical manner feasible (including all costs, risks, and performance characteristics). This report is prepared for the adoption of asset management in the bridge project of the Department of Bridge. It discusses how the department plans and operates the bridge projects. It also presents the practices the asset management in Department of Bridge. Additionally, it also describes difficulties and challenges in implementing asset management in the Ministry of Constructions and also includes the framework to improve the system. As one of the developing countries in the world, Myanmar, there are many challenges and obstacles to implementing the project management system and asset management system effectively the most challenging factors are a limited budget and frequent political changes. |
