| Abstract | This report introduces the stages of tendering system that was currently applied in Myanmar. As Myanmar is one of a developing country, Myanmar still needs more systematic tendering procedures, rules and guidelines to meet the international tendering standards. Not only these procedures and guidelines, but also needs an enforced tendering law to compel the execution of these rules. There are various kinds of work and project natures, and according to these the Tendering methods may vary work by work. Some of the tendering techinques and the authors’ various clarifications on these techinques are included in this report. According to Presidentail Tender Directive No.1/2017 that was announced by Myanmar President Office, all of the tendering from the government ministries must follow by this Directive No. 1/2017. As of the various construction material requriments and their quantity amount, the materials supply tendering type may vary and the construction equipment tendering also. In this report, The tendering strategy and management in road projects that was implemented by Ministry of Construction and the case study of TONEHONE SANKAR-LOIKAW 41 Miles Road Project was studied in this report. Out of this 41 Miles, the fourth-stage of 5 miles Road Part that was constructed in 2019-2020 Financial Year was only focused on this study. The tendering strategy, the processes of tendering, the materials tendering, the tendering document preparation, tender selection processes, the proposal evaluation systems, the winning tenderer announcement and the owner-contractor contract was studied in this report. After systematic evaluating on five tenderers’ proposal, the winning contractor of Shan Cherry Co., Ltd was selected to implement this 5 miles Road Project. In the analysis, the strength and weakness of the tendering work are analyzed and these results will be the references for the future road projects. |
