AbstractThis thesis was conducted to study the accuracy of rolling resistance theories in wet paddy land. The object was to evaluate the adequacy of rolling resistance equations developed by Bekker and Reece, based on empirical soil parameters derived from pressure - sinkage tests of flat circular plates. The results show that prediction of roll ing resistance by Bekker' s and Reece's equations are 24 percent and 21 percent respectively lower than measured rolling resistance. The prediction of rolling resistance by these two equations is quite similar. The effects of wheel parameters on rolling resistance agree with Bekker' s and Reece' s theories.
