| Abstract | This paper presents schedule delay and recovery management of ODA road construction project. The selected project is the poverty reduction of Hanmyintmo – Myogyi – Ywangan – Aungban Road project. In this study, the road construction project is divided into three sections. For section (1), it is from (5.600 km) to (32.800 km), and it is a total of (27.200 km) in length. And there are widening of (3.66 m) to (5.5 m) bituminous road, (12.19 m) widening of the embankment (vertical curve and horizontal curve), construction of box culvert, masonry drain, and retaining wall, and the constructions of guard rails and guard posts in the section (1). It is from (64.300 km) to (82.000 km), and it is a total of (17.700 km) in length for section (2), which includes widening of (3.66 m) to (5.5 m) bituminous road, (12.19 m) widening of the embankment, new constructions of box culverts (22 nos), construction of new RC bridge (1 no), removal of existing culverts (3 nos), construction of guard rail, kilometer posts, chevron, regulatory signs. For section (3), there includes widening of (3.66 m) to (5.5 m) bituminous road, new construction of box culverts (27 nos), the extension of existing box culverts (3 nos), removal of existing culverts (17 nos) and construction of guard rail, kilometer posts, chevron, regulatory signs and it is from (82.000 km) to (93.300 km), and it is a total of (11.300 km) in length. Within the construction of this project, there are facing problems that cause delaying the projects. Some of the issues have occurred during the pre-construction stage, construction stage, and the closed-out stage. Design problems, lack of materials, rare of workers, weather conditions, and price escalation are the problems which have been recognized as significant delay factors. To prevent these problems, there should be the proper organization of the project, and all of the persons included in the project had to be responsible for all their rules and duties. |
