| Abstract | Taunggyi, the capital of Southern Shan State, has been selected as the case study location for this paper of “Safety Management for High Rise Building”. Since I got an offer and designation as an Engineering Consultant up to 2 years in the under construction stages of this project, I kept in touch with most sectors of the project. This is the reason why I tried my best to highlight the real conditions and requirements of the project in comparison with Health & Safety Management theory I learnt from MPM code. I sorted out the literature review for the Safety Management System and then reconnect my detail analysis of the project to the theory as far as I can. The historical background of Myanmar along with its rules and regulations as well as the regional culture of Taunggyi is included in this paper. Indeed, as part of the project, I came to see the vitality of every single person within the organization and their accountability, roles & responsibility to implement a worthwhile Safety Management System. I also got a bunch of lists for strengths and weaknesses in real practice of the site so as to prepare my summary review, suggestions and lessons learnt integrating with the basis of my knowledge and experience. To sum up, I have made a detail approach of Safety Management System in both literature point of view and my on-site experienced review analysis. |
