AbstractThe successful accomplishment of a project describes the completion of the project that would be delivered in accordance with the client’s/ employer’s/ owner’s contract requirements, reliable with customer’s satisfaction, guaranteed performance and qualified service, within the planned budget and the specified time schedule under safety manner. The Upper Keng Tawng Hydropower Project has had problems of project management in various areas and has been significantly delayed, consequently, the project has great losses in terms of socio-economic and commercial benefits which affect the development of electric power sector and various infrastructures in Myanmar. We have learnt useful lessons from this project and we could apply them for future projects to mitigate and avoid the undesirable uncertainties and risks that make barriers to targeted project. The main purpose of this report is that significant delay of Upper Keng Tawng 51MW Hydropower project will be studied and root factors of major causation of delay will be identified and analyzed especially based on planning and implementation phases of project lifecycle, and lessons learnt will be taken for future projects.
