AbstractThe research project reported herein describes laboratory tests which have been made to study the performance of piezometers system under isotropic & anistropic stress systems. The tests on piezometers were made on three cylindrical piezometers, one spherical piezometer and one Warlam air piezometer with six measuring devices under undrain condition. The experimental results were used to analyze the shape factor solutions which presented in the past studies. The test results were compared with theoretical Hvorslev theory and it has been found that they are in good agreement for high degree of equalization. The theoretical Gibson theory is in good agreement for all of equalization process. The stress systems were found to have only very small effects on response time.
