| Abstract | In recent years, value management becomes more and more essential methodology used to increase project value within existing parameters and specifications in Vietnam’s construction industry. It is one of the modern methods of analysis and approach in the context of the construction industry in Vietnam, which has made great strides in development, requiring increasingly improved technical services, value management now has been researched, applied and turned into a competitive tool in terms of capacity and cost optimization by many large construction companies. The value management in design & build housing project applied for a Vietnamese’s General Contractor is a long process in accordance with the requirements of specific project, taking through a project life cycle since design stage to tender stage until construction stage and operation and maintenance stage. This study investigates the application and impact of value management within design and build housing projects in Vietnam, using a case study of a prominent local contractor. While the construction industry is being faced with increasing pressure to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver improved quality, value management has emerged as a critical approach. Through a detailed case study analysis, the research examines the methodologies employed by the contractor to incorporate value management principles throughout the project lifecycle. Besides, several recommendations from this study will be helpful for Contractors to improve adoption of value management practices effectively. |
