| Abstract | Vietnam’s industrial construction sector is rapidly evolving due to the increasing influx of high-quality FDI. This trend has created strong demand for factory projects that meet international standards in terms of quality, safety, and sustainability. The study focuses on the SPLA beverage manufacturing factory project, which was recognized for its high construction quality and early completion. The SPLA project commenced on April 8, 2024, and was handed over to the client on April 4, 2025 - 21 days ahead of schedule - allowing early commencement of equipment installation. The project serves as a benchmark case for future industrial factory projects in Vietnam. The main purpose of this research is to investigate contractor-led quality management practices in industrial construction projects. The secondary purpose is to analyze the implementation of quality management across all phases of the SPLA project, including tender, design, pre-construction, construction, and closeout. Lastly, the study aims to propose a practical framework for contractor quality management that can be applied to similar factory projects in Vietnam. The study begins with a review of key theories and frameworks. The case study was conducted through document analysis, internal audit records, NCR evaluations, and interviews with the project’s quality team. Key practices include early alignment with client expectations; classification and control of subcontractors and suppliers; BIM integration; implementation of Inspection and Test Plans ; Non-Conformance Report procedures; internal audits; and LEED certification. |
