AbstractFor many organizations research and development (R&D) projects are very important and necessary. The Graphical Evaluation and Review Technique (GERT) and Decision Tree approach are finding increased applications in R & D planning for those organizations. These two techniques are the subject matter for this study. The various characteristics of the two techniques are discussed according to input and output requirements , method of analysis , application area, etc. Some examples of these techniques for R & D planning are given as illustrations .
