| Abstract | In this thesis, a mathematical solution is used to determine the response spectrums for a modified earthquake record from Pakistan. A Fortran program for a digital computer is written in a form applicable to any accelerogram record for determination of response spectrums . A more rational approach for determining the seismic forces in the design of structures has been illustrated. It is suggested that response spectrums for true strong-motion earthquake records be evaluated and used for actual design of structures . The need for the collection of strong-motion earthquake records is stressed. |
