AbstractGlued joint specimens using plywood as gusset plates, and hardwood for central members, were tested to obtain recommended design loads per unit glued area, with various angles between the face grain of the plywood and the direction of loading. A truss was designed by considering the joints as rigid joints and tested in order to investigate the application of the results of the glued joint tests. The ratio of the ultimate load to the design load of the truss was about 2.5, showing a factor of safety which is satisfactory. (iv) '
