| Abstract | Characteristics of flow in a two-dimensional orifice with sharp-edged aleral-constriction plates placed unsymmetrically, normal to the flow, were investigated in the Hydraulic Laboratory, SEATO graduate School of Engineeing, Bangkok. The approach channel in the experiment was made of brass, one-inch in cross-section. There were two adjustable sliding plates at the end of the approach channel which were set up for different widths, b, and different eccentricities, e. the coefficient of Contraction, C₍c₎ and the angle of deflection of the jet, β, were obtained. Four graphs were prepared to show the relationship of C₍c₎ versus e/b, β versus e/b, and also C₍c₎ versus e/e₍max₎, and β versus e/e₍max₎ for different values of the ratio of the orifice opening to the width of the approach channel b/B. |
