AbstractBasic experiments were conducted to provide a set of data to select a suitable relation between water discharge and sediment discharge. Then a mathematical model was set up to predict the variations in bed level under unsteady non-uniform flows. The computed bed-levels using the mathematical model with the selected transport formula agree qualitatively with the results of experiments in a flume.
