Abstract | An attempt was made to find suitable operational research techniques which would determine the operation policies of a multiple purpose serially linked reservoirs systems. The basic technical difficulty with an optimization algorithm for a complex water resources system is the dimensionality. Two methods namely, Discrete Differential Dynamic Programming (DDDP) and Linear Programming Dynamic Programming (LPDP) have been discussed. Application of these methodologies have been made to the serially linked reservoirs system in Tachia river basin, Taiwan. |
