Abstract | Creep tests were conducted on four concrete mixes for 100 days at 21 ํC and for 21 days at 45 ํC and 65 ํC. A linear relation between the creep at the higher temperatures and the creep at room temperature was obtained. A comparison of the predicted 100-day creep by different prediction methods with the observed value is presented and it is found that the method developed by Meyers gives the most satisfactory result. The compressive strength of the same mixes tested under the same storage conditions as the creep specimens was investigated. It is shown that after 14 days at 21 ํC, concrete cured at 45 ํC had a higher strength than those cured at 21°c or 65°c. It is probable that this result is due to the testing conditions and is not associated with the prior treatment of the concrete. |
