AbstractWater monitoring plays very important role in aqua farm to maintain required conditions for the sea animals. Due to high demand on sea food various intensive farming methods have led to different water borne diseases. The prototype system that is designed to water monitor for aquaculture with low power platform and automatic control module has made the process simple and easy for aqua farmer. The making of this system is divided into three parts that is sensor platform, data transmission unit and data visualization. This system has got many useful features like low power consuming equipment and powered by solar energy. The sensor platform contains of a microcontroller, transmission unit and many sensors. The sensor platform is normally equipped with Arduino mega 2560, wi-fi module and Hc-12 wireless serial port, sensors like dissolved oxygen sensor, pH sensor and water temperature sensor. Hc-12 wireless serial port is equipped in this platform as it is low power consuming transmission unit. It is having limited range of one mile but has got many specifications and mode of transmitted data. AT command mode is configured with in this system so as all the platforms can communicate and transfer of data becomes easier. The data communication unit is the medium for transferring data from sensor platform to Control module and cloud server. The design of transmission unit is done using the Arduino uno, relay and coordinator Hc-12 wireless serial port. Hc 12 wireless serial port is the present technology which is used in many fields with its remote controlling features. Arduino is a single board which is capable of processing data and capable of being a microcontroller that can run the program. C++ language is used to program in Arduino mega due to its huge number libraries which help to achieve the requirements. The HC-12 wireless serial port is connected to Arduino mega by port and Arduino is powered by solar energy. This set of units is connected to light and when it receives with sensor platform the code sends commands to that calls the Hc-12 wireless serial port and transformation of data takes place. After the transmission of data, it is important to understand it, so visualization helps to analyze it. In this research an online software called plot is used which produces the graph from csv file in thingspeak. After the data is received in Arduino mega it is uploaded to the software by the user which shows the data in graphical format. The coding that is used in this research is C++. This prototype system which is developed helps the aqua farms by reducing the number of labors, maintenance of huge farms become easy and accuracy of the data increases. These advantages with the power management and solar energy make this system more efficient and user friendly.
