AbstractThe Story Boarding and shot designing is a useful and important in case of large media and movie production for pre planning and carrying out the shooting process in Cinematography. The 3D maps of shooting locations in the preproduction are very useful information to have for the cinematographer during the preplanning when it is hard to visit the location in real time. Measuring buildings around and looking around for the obstacles in the Area of interest for shooting for the cities and Film studios at large-scale using traditional methods take lot of time and effort. The environmental awareness before going to the shooting and planning the camera movement path gives a flexibility for the movie makers. The use of photogrammetry, a geospatial data is a quick solution to generate the shooting locations blueprint. High defined 3D map data can be constructed and developed cheaply using UAV images. Form the UAV imagery we have we generated 3D models in the software, this 3D maps are used in this study to create the desired shot size and movement from the cinematography literature with Storyboarding done on the 3D models with the short list created. The Story Boarding done on the 3D maps with camera keyframes with location data are then used as an input in the production of shooting with shooting executed in actual shooting location. This experimental research is very useful for the media production and film makers who face issues amid covid breakdown. With a lot of shooting and travelling restrictions the team can have a clear idea an automated camera path even before visiting the shooting location.
