AbstractThe study was conducted to measure consumptive use of paddy RDll variety in situ condition, Experiments were set in the experimental farm of Klang Luang Rice Experiment Station{ Bangkok to record the data of seevage & percolation and evapotranspiration in low land condition by water balance method (water subsidence technique) during wet season of 1978. Data of evaporation and rainfall were also collected, The results revealed that total amount of water for seepage & percolation and evapotranspiration were 232.30 mm and 583.10 mm with average daily rates of 2.32 and 5.83 mm/day respectively. The value of seepage & percolation was affected by the unprecedented flood and hence wholly it does not reflect the real value. This value may be higher in normal condition. The total amount of water required by the crop was 815.40 mm with daily consumption of 8,15 mm/day, Average value of pan factor( ET/EV, was to be 1.15 for the whole growing period. A regression analysis was done to correlate the measured evapotranspiration and evaporation, and different values of the pan coefficient, b, and empirical constant, a , were found for the different growth periods.
