AbstractIn this study, available feasibility study reports of many public works projects were reviewed taking into account of comments from staffs of those projects. Actual records on changes of costs at various stages of development of those projects were also investigated. As a result, a unified system for feasibility study of large public works projects is proposed. The proposed system facilitates a logical sequence of work in conducting a feasibility study applicable to any types of projects. The increase in the total cost of public works projects before and, during approval process from the government was also included in this study. Costs of four projects during such process were investigated. The trend was assumed to be linear, and the cost became double in three and a half years.
