AbstractMicro-floe adsorption equation was used to investigate the influence of mixing intensity on the reduction of the micro-floes in flocculation. By varying the raw water turbidity, paddle position, area and rotation rate, the basic equation for micro-floe adsorption is acceptable, and the best results of effective mean rate of turbulent energy dissipation is given by 0 = -0.5. Artificial raw water was used in this research by adding kaolinite clay to the tap water, and alum was used as coagulant. The validity of micro-floe adsorption equation was compared to Contact Flocculation equation and Camp's equation, k = 0.4 is used in Camp's equation, because the experimental unit was used without stator. The value of effective energy dissipation is found to be 0.1 to 0.12 of the total energy dissipation. The prediction of floe volume at ultimate floe size distribution is also presented. The best G-values for these experiments are in the range 36 to 46 s-1, compared to recommended value in the range 5 yo 100 s-1
