Abstract | This thesis presents a summary of the common pavement design methods used for airfield and highway constructions. Emphasis has been made on
the application of soil mechanics, such as site investigation, compaction
control, foundation soil properties which affect the final decision in choosing the type of pavement design method for that particular project. The basic theory of the design methods are discussed and case histories
are used to show the influence of soil mechanics and to compare the difference of design methods. |
