AbstractTypes of concrete bridges and construction methods of the superstructure, based on segmental construction, were reviewed, A study on the superstructure construction of two bridges crossing the Chao Phya River was carried out . The first one is the Sathorn Bridge whose approach spans are constructed by Incremental Launching method on its first application in Asia. The second bridge is the Memorial Bridge II which will be constructed by the popular approach, the Balanced Cantilever method. The pros are cons of those reviewed construction methods were tabulated. Superstructures construction of the Sathorn Bridge and the Memorial Bridge II were discussed and suggestions were made. Recommendations for further study on related matter were also provided.
