AbstractThe thesis is a study of intercomparision of two deterministic catchment models. The SSARR and TANK models are chosen and tested for three data sets of three different size basins in the Mekong river. The climatic and hydrologic data for water years 1975, 1976, 1977 are used for calibration of models as well as computation of some intercomparision criteria. The verification of models are also performed using data on the water year 1978. The intercomparision of models are carried out on the basic of the obtained results of calibration as well as evaluation of compared criteria, The selected criteria include statistical criteria of discharge errors and some other criteria for peak rate and runoff volumes. The analysis results signified that the SSARR model is greatly suitable to the big as well as medium basins. The accuracy of SSARR model decreased with decreasing drainage areas. The Tank model is more adaptable and flexible to the size of the basin, as it resulted in good simulation of the big, medium basins and also the small basin to a certain extent.
