AbstractSome analysis concerni.ng the average areal rainfall of daily rainfall totals were reported. Several techniques are evaluated in an experimental way, namely by comparing with a widely accepted technique for the estimation of approximated actual average areal rainfall. The same data set was used in each experiment to simplify the comparison of the performance of each technique. The used techniques are all of typed weighted average of the surrounding stations. The results of these experiments indicate that the two-axis method; a new method to calculate average precipitation over a basin, is simulating values closest to that by a widely accepted method, the isohyetal method, for Northeast part of Thailand. The obtained results is fairly reasonable.
