AbstractIn this research, the Foreign investment ventures, specifically the EEC-Thailand joint ventures have been studied in order to provide a better idea and understanding about EEC investment in Thailand. For this, relevant data and other information was obtained from Board of Investment. However, to analyze the problem in greater detail personals interviews were conducted with eleven top rank executive involved with existing EEC-Thai joint venture firms. Although, it is desirable to conduct a much larger number of interviews, lack of resources prevented this. The data and information thus collected was analyzed within area of registered total capital, percent of capital equity participation, employment, amount of raw material utilization, type of activities established, etc.. It is concluded that both the European and Thai investors have shared the benefits from joint ventures. This has been a dynamic force in the development of Thai industry. However, it is recommended that the government should provide special incentives in order to enhance utilization of local raw materials and to guarantee more employment opportunities for Thai personnel.
