AbstractThis study is aimed at establishing a set of cost indices for construction projects in Thailand, by collecting adequate data from various types of construction projects in the country and analyzing it. The results cover three major components of costs, viz.,labour, material and equipment for different types of building constructions including hotels, residences, offices and industrial areas. Indices have been derived for each component of construction cost, on the bases of unit floor area, unit enclosed volume, and the percentage of total construction cost. The results are expected to be useful to the contractors as well as prospective owners concerned with building construction in Thailand to predict construction costs on the basis of only a few basic elements of information, such as, the floor area or the enclosed volume of the project.
