Abstract | The Clupak paper manufacturing project is another step in further developing technology in Kraft paper industry. The major purposes of this project is to diversify the multiwall sack Kraft paper which is used to produce bags for cement, fertilizers and chemical to clupak extensible paper. Because the quality of clupak paper is superior to that of ordinary multiwall Kraft paper, users will be able to realize considerable savings on paper costs and producers will expect to gain higher contribution from this kind of paper. This special study consists of two parts. The first part is to review the Feasibility report of the Clupak project prepared by the Siam Kraft Paper Company. In this part some forecasted data on demand and sales are update and some concepts used in determining the internal r ate of return are revised. The reasons to updated those data and revise the misleading concept together with the sensitivity analysis are also discussed in this part. the second part is to plan and schedule activities in the Clurak project with respect to the Resource availabilities. In the. part the network modelling approach is performed to check if important economics in time ca n be made compared to the bar chart approach, which was actually used in the plant. The PROJACS package is utilized to solve this problem with several alternatives of priority rule for scheduling those activities. Some special characteristics of the networks are also discusses in this second part. |
