AbstractA Microcomputer-based interactive software used for the analysis and design of water supply distribution network was developed. The applications of a digitizer tablet and lightpen were used to help the user in handling geographical data and to make the menu selection. The analysis of the flow in the network adopts the Linear Pipe Iteration method because of its fast conveyance. The developed software consists of a subsystem for input the map and select the pipe size for the network into a file , a subsystem to process the analysis of the flow, and a subsystem to modify/change the basic data for reanalysis of the network. This capability enables a user to simulate different types of network configuration. The software Has developed in BASIC language for the IBM PC. The computed flowrates were compared with the reference values and the difference between these values are found to be in the range of 1% to 6%. However, the solution requires more iterations to converge than it was described by WOOD(l972 ) .
