AbstractThis research study has been carried out to design a computerized Information (Dub) systems for the Incentives Supervision Division and Project Control Division of the Office of the Board of Investment (OBOI). With respect to this, the background of the Office of the Board of Investment is first illustrated with the global problems of the whole information system cited. Then a detailed analysis of the existing information systems of the area under study is conducted for developing an integrated MIS of follow-up activities on the promoted projects of the two divisions. To develop the general design, the requirements of the system design and the information needs of the area under study have been determined. Based on these requirements various reports and their formats are designed and subsequently the data collection forms which will be the inputs to the Computerized Information System are designed. The data Collection forms are designed to incorporate data for the current needs and the needs envisioned in the near future. Various computer files are designed to hold and process the data being collected from the follow-up activities on the promoted project. In designing the new computerized system, a prototype is developed to evaluate the new outputs designed by using micro-computer and software for dBASEII and WordStar which are available in the OBOI. By prototyping the typical examples of outputs designed are illustrated. In implementing the new system. Hardware, Software, Personnel and Training Requirements are established including a framework of the implementation plan, and lastly, outline for future developing the information system is given and factors cited which will lead towards system failure.
