Abstract | The purpose of thi s study Is to assess the genera l Imp act of foreign Investment In the Thai Agro-Industrial sector from the following perspectives: income distribution , employment, trade, labour income, service costs & tax revenues, transfer of technology and s kills, training, productivity, and cooperation with government policies. Data employed In this study come from survey as well as the Board of Investment. Due to the nature of the data available as well as the breadth of coverage attempted, the results of the analysis would be Indicative rather than conclusive In nature. Nevertheless, some Interesting results have been obtained and these do support the viewpoints expressed In the literature on foreign Investment. A full understanding of the various effects would require an in depth study which Is left for future study . |
