AbstractA computer-aided program mPCON for analysis and design of continuous prestressed concrete beams and flat slabs is developed. The program is written in Microsoft BASIC under CP/M system. Three examples are presented to illustrate the capability and of the program. Results from these examples clearly indicate the versatility and effectiveness of the program. The well-planned architecture of the program helps render continuous interactions between the program and its human partner. Steps of execution and all important decisions that require human judgements are controlled by the user. The computer only serves as an obidient, reliable and hardworking assistant. Tremendous efforts have been spent to verify the correctness a nd consistency of the program. It is hoped therefore that the program will be extremely reliable and useful for practice purposes.
