Abstract | The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of stress on the performance of construction project managers who are working in Myanmar. This study also discusses the mediating and moderating role of workplace spirituality on the relationship between stress and impact of construction project managers. The data is collected via google form and distributed to construction project managers via emails and with the help of data collection assistants. A total of 150 questionnaires were received and used them for the analysis to meet with this study’s purpose. In this study, construction project managers suffer physiological stress the most followed by burnout and objective stress where the former two stress are at moderate level and objective stress is at low level. Regarding their performance, their task performance is the highest followed by interpersonal and organizational performance respectively. All of their performances are at high level except for organizational performance which is at moderate level. Moreover, their workplace spirituality is at the moderate level and meaningful work stands at the top. This study’s findings confirm that objective stress has no relationship with all the performance. But burnout has been found to have negative significant relationship with task performance and interpersonal performance while having significant positive relationship with organizational performance. Furthermore, positive significant relationship with task and interpersonal performance while having negative significant relationship with organizational performance. Workplace spirituality only play as a mediating role and not as a moderating role according to the result of this study. |
