AbstractThe instrumentation and In-Situ Test were carried out to monitoring the subsidence in the AIT Campus. For this purpose installation of deep settlement gauges, installation of deep compression auger tip indicator, Dutch Cone Text and plotting of contours were done. The contouring area were restricted to the concrete slab between the AIT Centre, the Administration Building and Lake. The results of précised levelling in 429 days were to found to be 15.1 cm in the walkway from the Academic Building to Dormitories. This is maximum which is measured similar in deep settlement gauges the settlement in weather clay is 15.5 mm in 102 days behind Library Building. Similarly maximum settlement is 19.5 mm is 14 meter depth in pumping well no. 3 (corner of Physical Plant). The Dutch Cone Test gives some indication of presence of very soft clay layers. By plotting the contours, it became very clear that area near the rainwater outlet drain and sewerage line settled more as compare to the other areas. This may be because of leakage of times.
