Abstract | An attempt is made to reconcile Neo Classical and Marxian economic growth models using the system dynamics method. It is shown that the behavior predicted by the two models occurs only under special conditions . The business cycles attributed to the interaction of the multiplier and accelerator in the Neo Classical model require unrealistic assumptions about parameters and structure of the system, whereas the increasing misery and pauperism as envisaged by the Marxian model occurs under very specific conditions. It is proposed that that much debate is generated because of non overlapping economic growth theories, which are inadequate and limited in their assumptions. accommodate many scenarios is emphasized . |
