Abstract | The objective of this study is to develop a microcomputer
based Control Design Support System (CDSS) for single-input
single-output control systems. CDSS consists of 4 subsystems:
dialog, control, information and design subsystems.
The dialog subsystem gets and provides information between a
user and CDSS. The control subsystem decides what to d o based
on information obtained from a user while t h e information
subsystem stores information about CDSS components. This
information will be shown to a user if requested. The design
subsystem consists of conventional and rule - based design modules.
The conventional design module h as 5 stability analysis, 2
simulation an d 2 design methods. The rule - based design module is
good for the systems with unknown transfer functions. It
determine s PID controller parameters based on experience stored in term of rules.
Some design examples are presented to show the feasibility
and effective ness of CDSS.
