Abstract | This research study presents the development of a computer user model for AIT. The users discussed in this user model are limited to only the student body of the Institute. The objectives in developing this user model are to understand the students' behavior with regards to the use of computer systems in AIT. to categorize the various types of student users, and to evaluate whether the present computer systems meet the needs of he users. The proposed user model sheds the light on the proper planning of the computer system facilities in the future. The proposed user model is described as a queuing model and is simulated using the GPSS package. The results show that the computer facilities of AIT are adequate for the present student body. In addition, that more courses related to computers can be introduced without affecting the queue of the users. |
