AbstractAccording to the Vietnam Industrial Construction Report 2nd Quarter/ 2022 (HouseLink, 2022), Vietnam’s GDP growth in the 2nd Quarter of 2022 reached 7.72%, highest GDP growth rate in every 2nd Quarter of the year since 2018. This can be considered as an extremely optimistic sign for the recovery of the Viet Nam’s economy after the breaking out of pandemic. Another data from General Statistics Office of Viet Nam has shown that, in the industry and construction field, the processing and manufacturing sectors continued to be the economic engine with a growth rate of 6.37%, contributing 1.61 percentage points to the growth rate of total value added of the economy. Those data have been clearly pointed out that the Viet Nam Industrial Construction field has still being a strongly potential market for the investors, consultant firms and contractors and this led to a highly demand of knowledge in management, development, especially in construction project management. Nowadays, there are many owners or developers in Viet Nam and every developer have their own way of operation in Project Management. In terms of Project Management, there are some good projects and there are also a lot of poor projects due to the delay in schedule, overrun budget, and bad quality. This study will introduce an investigation for the problems, suggest some solutions and improvements for the procedures of project management in the terms of SOP – Standard Operating Procedures and hopefully, it may help the organizations, directors, managers and executers in their journey to meet project goals.
