Abstract | In recent decades, the construction industry has been rapidly developing not only downtown but also in new development regions in Viet Nam. With a young population structure, big cities are attracting a large number of workers so that the housing demand, especially in high-rise buildings, can meet the living needs of modern families while optimizing land resources Generally, contract management is the most important part of the process for delivering a project successfully. A good contract must cover most of the cases that potentially happen during the process of construction to prevent disputes. Nevertheless, in the practical exercise, the person in charge of contract management may not have sufficient experiences to foresee matters that may arise in the future. A regular error of the contract is the lack of detailed drawings that will support the Contractors to claim extra quantity into the project. The above reasons are only examples of insufficient contracts; besides, there are many reasons that cause the contract to fail. The report analyzes to find problems in the contract of Project VV Mixed Use Residential project in Ho Chi Minh City but focuses on the content of contract documentation issues. Then the report will recommend solutions for specific cases. The report might point out the weakness of lacking documents in the FIDIC contract for the Employer improving contract management of the project or apply it for other projects. |
