Abstract | Integrated Project Delivery has emerged as an innovative process that brings the beneficial factors to the project outcome as the highest form, which based on collaboration, ownership, share risks and rewards and open communication. Key participants are aligned by a single agreement. Traditional delivery method in some cases suffers an underperforming system, lack of innovation, cost overrun and take too long to build. It traditionally produces the outcome which makes the Owner to be disappointed and debate much of the construction industry. What is more, it creates the project team to look like silos that each of them is organized top-down distribution and separated individually by contractual walls. This study is to evaluate the pros and cons of Maihouse Hoi An project based on traditional delivery method and makes a comparison between Design-Bid-Build and IPD characteristic. Finally, to give lessons learned from the project which could be evaluated and analyzed the effectiveness and efficiency of applying traditional delivery method in the past in order to be promoted with the IPD method for the next projects. |
