AbstractDue to the complexity and competitiveness of construction projects today, "Mechanization of Operations" and " Good Management" are two most potential approaches to win more contract by increasing the productivity. Since mechanization through ROBOTICS has its drawbacks and limitations due to the impact of environmental influences. Therefore good management may be considered to be the most significant potential area for productivity improvement. In this study quantitative system has been developed to assign relative weighting to various factors affecting management performance on construction. Questionnaires were designed to collect empirical data from t h e project managers regarding the influence of various factors on their project and also on the relative weighting of factors against themselves. This data was obtained via direct visits to projects in Hongkong, Korea & Taiwan and by mails from others; From the rank data, we generated the relative weighting of factors for all types of construction, type-oriented construction and country-oriented construction and discussed the significant differences between ranks and weightings, then convert e d rank data into numerical and sorted projects by the job conditions. Finally Linear Discriminant Function (LDF ) analysis has been used to identify the job and management conditions based on different combinations of variables, which were conducted by the correlation analysis , to find out the highest correctness of estimate accompanying with the evaluation index (Z-score ) and the best LDF equation. Thus we can e stablish the performance evaluation models through the assumptions and t he critical Z-scores. Comparing the project Z-score which is generated from LDF equation with the critical values in t h e evaluation mode l, we can assess the " efficiency " of management as good , fair or poor and make timely, proper decisions to correct the deficiencies.
