Abstract | Currently, structural health monitoring (SHM) is used to study behavior of several type of the structure such as high-rise building, bridge and infrastructure. In this study, 3-story RC frame model is designed to find modal curvature from normalized modal strain. The dimensions of the model are considered for built and test in the lab. The specimen is excited by impulse excitation, hit at the middle of third floor beam. Semi-conductor strain gauges and accelerometers is used to detect the vibration of the specimen. The strain gauges are installed on the longitudinal reinforcement close to the joint of members which have clearly internal moment in the member. The responses are processed to frequency domain by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Accelerometer is used to be referent point for strain gauges. Modal parameters such as natural frequency, mode shape, damping ratio and curvature are determined, and pattern of bending moment diagram is calculated from the curvature. |
