| Abstract | This research is carried in order to find the effects of various self-compacting materials, such as water-binder ratio, sand to total aggregate ratio, percentage of 19.5 mm. of coarse aggregate, fly ash and fineness modulus of sand on the fresh properties and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete. Two level of fractional factorial design (2{u1D458}−1) where k is the factors considered and 2{u1D458}−1 design will project into a full factorial in any (k-1) of the original k factors. The total number of experiments performed is 16 and the obtained results are analyzed using a statistical software i.e. MINITAB 17. Results showed that the fresh properties such as slump flow and v-funnel are mainly influenced by the amount of fly ash additive percentage and w/b ratio respectively. The hard property is compressive strength at 28 and 56 days is influenced by fly ash additive percentage. Comparing the cost of DOE method with 3 different compressive strength and slump flow mixes, DOE mix is low cost with designed strength and slump flow. Some mix proportion are also predicted which could be used further. |
