Abstract | Battery health estimation is one necessary of a battery maintenance. Measuring the battery properties such as the internal resistance and impedance can be used to estimate the battery health and capacity. Some battery types, for example, a valve regulated lead– acid is used to back up the power in the power plant for an emergency case. This battery type has a high capacity which the conductance parameter of the battery is high as well. Few methods such as DC and AC methods are used to measure the battery properties. An invented battery measurement system, uses the AC method, has a limitation which is not able to measure a high battery conductance parameter as the valve regulated lead– acid battery. This study is to improve the invented battery measurement system to measure a high conductance value by improving the hardware and software. |
