Abstract | This study seeks to derive by mean of the Simulation approach, a measure of reliability in operation of reservoir system including three reservoirs in the North of Vietnam. The Proposed Rule Curve for these three reservoirs will be recommended in this study in order to meet higher reliability in the flood control, downstream lowflow and energy demands. The study involves the following aspects: 1) Search for an a ppropriate Data Generation Model which is satisfied with the existing basins and the purposes of this study. 2) Development of a Simulation Model for the analysis of the performances in operation of reservoir system. 3) Sensitivity analysis of the system to changes in the Rule Curve of reservoirs. The study shows that the Simulation is helpful techniques in Water Resources System. The program which is based on this techniques is developed in order to calculate the reliability in operation of a multipurpose reservoir system. The synth etic inflow for three reservoirs, Thacba, Hoabinh and Tabu, is generated by applying the Thomas- Fiering Model a nd t he Linear Regression Model for monthly streamflow. The Mass Balance Equation which includes evaporation from the reservoir surface is used as a skeleton of the simulation model. The efficiency of the tunnel, the turbine and the generator unit are taken into account in order to get the higher confidence level of the energy production. Modified Rule Curve of the reservoirs is the path to look for the better rule curve of these reservoirs. The proposed Rule Curve is also recommended in this study. |
