Abstract | There exists a simple flow line, Hub Frontwheel line of THAI ENGINEERING PRODUCT company, which continuously produces a specific kind of part and has no set up for changing the fixtures and jigs to produce other kinds of part. The related problem are how to analyse the machine utilization in the operation process and to determine the (s,S) control policies of the raw material inventory and of finished part inventory. In the phase of operation process, first the model was used to calculate the machine utilization. Then, according to this utilization, the new layout was designed. In the phase of raw material inventory, the model was formulated by combining with EOQ, reorder point(s) and under the uncertain supplier lead time. In the phase of the finished part inventory, the probability formulation is to decide the optimal control level (L = S - s). A simulation approach for the latter two cases is used to revise the reorder point of the raw material inventory and the L control level of the finished part inventory. |
