Abstract | Studies on electricality consumption of Pingtung Pulp Mill l , a
daily production of 3 00 tons bleached kraft bagasse pulp mill, in
the south o f Taiwan, have been carried out. Energy audit for the
electrical systems was accounted in overall mill. Monthly and
daily electricity consumption profiles of each department are
shown. According to t h ese data , the opportunities for electricity
conservation invidious departments are identified and analyzed.
Hence, the low cost electrical load management strategies are
proposed .
In today's competitive world , a company mu s t be efficient ,
cost effective and flexible if it wishes to survive . In t h e
manufacturing and process industries, t his has resulted in a
great increased demand for industrial control systems in order to
streamline operations in terms of s peed, reliability , versatility
and material throughput. Established control me di a , including
relay , logic systems, can d o provide effective control of industrial control processes . However , each of the above me di a has
limitation s or disadvantages that may often be overcome through
the u se of a computer-based process control system.
Due to the in creasing importance of computer- based process
control. system in pulp and paper industry, t h e concept and influence of said system are presented in this study. Th e u se of programm able logic controllers in process control are also discussed , and two possible control schemes for the process are
demonstrated. Also o n e proposal on electrical load management
strategy :incorporate d in the computer-based process control
system that could res n l t in reduction of demand and can save
money about NT$ 505, fi 1 2 each month was presented. Through these
modern control systems can make more efficient pulp processing
a nd a better quality pulp which command for a more competitive
price in the market. |
